In my 20 plus years of entrepreneurship, it still leaves me baffled when I meet with a new client and they tell me that they have called 3 other landscape companies before me and I was the only one that answered the phone or called them back.

I think, wow, how can someone run a business that is totally dependent on a steady flow of leads and not call those leads back. (Well, actually, the first thing I think about is, dang, I really need to improve my marketing since I was the 4th company they found, but that’s a topic for another day).

Grasses such as Adagio, Maiden, Muhly and Hameln are beautiful mounds of gently waving blades with awesome tufts of blooms for most of the growing season. Now they are brown and tired looking. Tie them up and cut them off level approximately 6” above the ground.

It provides a manicured look to your landscape and promotes uninhibited new growth this spring, resulting in a more robust plant.

I like to add river rock or #57 gravel to the bottom of my containers. Then I cut a piece of landscape fabric and lay that on top of the gravel so it acts as a filter for the soil and won't clog up the drainage hole.

A manual system refers to a system that has to be turned on and off by hand while an automatic system is operated with a controller and can tell the system when to turn on and off, what days to water and how long each zone will water.
