Adjusting your Irrigation System for Cooler Weather

Adjusting your Irrigation System for Cooler Weather

The two systems we use are Manually Operated and Automatically Operated.

A manual system refers to a system that has to be turned on and off by hand while an automatic system is operated with a controller and can tell the system when to turn on and off, what days to water and how long each zone will water.

Short and Sweet November Check In

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we can't wait to feast on some turkey and dressing but for now we would like to share your November reminders and helpful tips!

NOVEMBER REMINDERS AND HELPFUL TIPS

  • Winterize irrigation systems that pump from lakes or streams.

  • Prune evergreen plants such as Holly, Indian Hawthorne and Loropetalums. (DO NOT prune your Azaleas).

  • Install cool season annuals.

  • Over seed warm season grasses like Bermuda, Zoysia and Centipede with annual Rye for a green lawn throughout the winter.

  • Apply first round of pre-emergent weed control.

  • Cut Camellia blooms for nice floral arrangements.

  • Blow leaves.

  • Plant trees and shrubs in your landscape. Fall is an EXCELLENT time to plant.

DON'T FORGET

In addition to our full service landscape and hardscape installations we also can help you with the following:

  • Grading. Do you have erosion or water issues? Let our machines turn into your workhorses!

  • Landscape Clean Ups. Do you have leaves, sticks and debris everywhere or areas that just bother you?

  • Pruning. Are your plants covering your home or hiding your windows? Have they lost their original shape?

  • Annual Color. Adding pockets of color to your landscape can really make it pop in the fall as other plants and turf begins to go dormant.

Are you ready to let our extensive knowledge and experience turn your vision into a reality? Get started HERE.

Remember...summer landscapes are made in the fall! The time to plan is NOW!

DESIGN TIME

Let our design services create the outdoor living area you've always dreamed of.  A comprehensive plan sets the tone for your landscape. Planning the work and working the plan is a key element to a successful landscape.

Let's talk tradition...

Traditional landscaping that is!

We get it, sometimes hardscapes can steal the show.

Massive retaining walls...

Elegant walkways...

Sport sections...

Poolscapes...

...they seem to get all of the attention. Today we have a traditional landscaping project to share with you! Fall is a really great time for any landscape project (i.e. suppliers are dropping material costs to move inventory) but it is especially a great time to plant. Moderate temperatures really helps take the stress off newly installed plants.

Check out this project! Haley Browning Designs created a comprehensive plan for this client. Since this was a new construction we were able to take advantage of having a blank slate to work with. The client needed a plant package and wanted some outdoor living options. For phase one they opted for the plant package, irrigation, landscape lighting, metal edging and requested rock for their beds.
